Children’s graves: after 50 years

When I made my usual round – for the 12 graves 2016 project – at the local cemetery this morning I was surprised to see new vases with flowers and little windmills placed at old children’s graves (from the 1940s and 50s). It fascinated me; who has put them there and why?
It also touched me. The flowers put at those anonymous graves – often just marked with a number – draw attention to these young lives lost decades ago…
